The Package model for 'U.S.A. only' was reminiscent of the Turbo 3.3 S of 1992. With only 17 cars built, it is one of the rarest Porsches ever made (81 Turbo 3.3 S were built). Although designated for 'U.S.A. only', one car was delivered to Canada through through Volkswagon.

The 'Package' car was a Flachbau without the Flatnose designated a 1994 Turbo S Model (option code '36S') but not ordered with option code X85 (Turbo 'Flatnose Package'). The package car was identified by the combination of the '36S' option plus the 'X88' option engine, the 'X92' option Exclusive front spoilers, the 'X93' option Exclusive rear spoiler, and the 'X99' option air inlets in rear left and right side panels for engine cooling.

There were some standard turbos ordered with the 'X99' option air inlets in rear left and right side panels for engine cooling but these are not Package cars.

Facts, Rumors and Myths?

#1 Lonnie Smith of the Atlanta Braves used to own VIN 480409.

#2 The two cars order in 'Metallic Paint to Sample' are not the special Metallic Pearl.

#3 The original owner of VIN 480465 replaced the wing on the car with a 3.8RSR wing at the time of delivery.

#4 VIN 480457 (not a Package car) was ordered in Canada through VW of Canada and instead of standard option codes for the package car has option 'TOU unknown option' for tourist delivery. This car was not bodied at the factory as a 'Package' car but has the X88 option.

#5 There are numerous cars throughout the ROW which are similar to VIN 480457 with standard body and the X88 option. Given that there were 155 X88 engines built and there are 93 known cars which have the X88 option (Flatnose or Package), this leaves as many as 62 ROW cars which may have a similar build sheet.
